Embracing injection Safety as a personal cause, Federal Health Minister, Makhdoom Shahabuddin expressed the resolve to take all possible measures to stem the practice of unsafe and irrational use of injections in the country.
Chairing a National Consultation on Injection Safety in Islamabad on Friday organized jointly by the Ministry of Health, USAID and PAIMAN, he pointed out that the unsafe use of injections has resulted in spread of diseases like Hepatitis, adding that as “a nation we must come forward to discourage this scourge”.

Zahid Maqbool, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) said that Government should take business community into confidence before bringing any changes in taxation mode to avoid any misperceptions.
According to press release issued here on Tuesday, this was observed by Zahid Maqbool, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) while addressing a large gathering of Aapara traders. He was heading a delegation of ICCI to congratulate Mr. Ajmal Baloch on being elected as President of Traders Welfare Association, Aabpara Market from the platform of Shaheen Ittehad Group.
He said government is planning to introduce VAT and enhance tax rate for AOPs and small companies in the forthcoming budget, but stressed that such measures should not be taken without taking stakeholders on board.
He lauded the services of Mr. Ajmal Baloch for serving trading community selflessly and congratulated him on being elected sixth time consecutively as the President of Aabpara Traders Welfare Assocation.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajmal Baloch said that ICCI has always served the cause of small traders and highlighted their issues at all relevant forums, which shows that ICCI is a true representative of all traders.
He said ICCI should also take up the matter of promulgation of a balanced rent control act in Islamabad and ask government to resolve residential problem of small traders, which are currently the burning issues of the traders of federal capital.

The steps taken by the government to bring the economy on the track have proved fruitful and the country has started moving in the direction of economic progress. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Assembly in its meeting on Tuesday directed the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to deposit Rs. 664 million in the national exchequer earned through the sale of Textile quota. The PAC meeting which met here in the Parliament House with acting chairman Riaz Hussain Pirzada in the chair reviewed the audit report of the Ministry of Trade and Commerce for the audit year 2008-09.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that certain Baloch separatists with the help of Taliban and external forces are conspiring to dismember Pakistan but the govt of Pakistan would ensure country’s security and safety.
He expressed these views while addressing the participants of the media conference during his visit to the National Defense University.
Sources told that Interior Ministry gave a detailed briefing to the participants on the country’s law and order situation in particular the situation in Balochistan.
According to Interior Ministry Spokesman Interior Minister said that govt is serious in development and prosperity of Balochistan and for uplift of the Baloch people. Aghaz-e-Haqooqi package is a proof of govt commitment towards the prosperity of Balochistan. He said that the govt is working along with the provincial govt for improving the security situation in the province and all necessary measures would be taken in this regard. Sources told that Interior Minister said that evidence of India’s involvement in deteriorating the security situation in Pakistan have been found and even today there are 50 Farari camps in various areas of Balochistan.
He said we have given dossiers to Afghanistan as certain separatists leaders sitting in Afghanistan with the patronage of outside forces are involved in deteriorating the situation in Pakistan. He also disclosed that certain people have been arrested who have Afghanistan security cards. He said that BLA has given training to five to 6000 people but we would ensure the sovergnity and security of the country. In response to a question he said Taliban have made their to Haripur and in order to stop their advancement we carried out an operation in Kala Dhaka as they were getting supplies from there.
During the search operation we nabbed several high value targets.
He said that we have made major achievements in nabbing several high value targets and have been able to break the network of terrorists.
He said that he is in talks with administration for Madrassa reforms.
