As degrees of a number of legislators have proven fake, the National Assembly’s Standing Committee for Education on Tuesday handed over degrees of all parliamentarians to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for verification. The polling for by-elections in two seats of the National Assembly and two seats of Punjab Assembly would be held today (Saturday) and neck-to-neck contest is expected between candidates of PPP and PML-N on NA-167 (Burewala) and PP-63 (Faisalabad).

National Assembly on Monday unanimously approved the establishment of Islamabad High Court.
Addressing the National Assembly on Monday after the approval of Islamabad High Court Bill 2010, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said the first Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) would be from FATA. He said Chief Justice of IHC will be appointed on rotation basis.
The PM remarked that more than 25000 lawyers would benefit from IHC while people of the area would also get relief after the establishment of Islamabad High Court.
